Installation of a Swimming Pool Safety Fence
The installation of a swimming pool safety fence is as important as the quality of the fence itself. Life Saver of Houston follows the tried and tested method Life Saver Pool Fence Systems. All of our installers are factory trained, which means you can be assured of a quality, safe installation of your removable pool fence. To ensure a proper installation both for safety and quality, Life Saver of Houston insists on the following standards:
Wet Core Drilling
The wet core drill is essential to getting accurate, clean holes drilled into the deck without damaging the deck or chipping the surface. Our Life Saver factory-trained installers also know how to properly adjust the drill for corners and radiuses; providing a tight swimming pool safety fence without sagging every time.
In-earth Concrete Footers
In order for a fence to be solid, in needs to have a solid foundation. Whenever a removable pool safety fence requires installation in ground, Life Saver of Houston uses concrete footers to ensure a solid foundation. Footers are always dug deep enough in order to avoid future shifting and moving.
The 4 inch polymer sleeves typically used when installing removable pool fences are meant for concrete installation. In order to provide a solid foundation and to prevent brick paving stones from “popping out” from their settings, Life Saver of Houston uses longer sleeves that go through the brick and into the earth, sand or crushed gravel below. This prevents the brick from lifting if the fence is hit with heavy force.
Custom Cuts and Rebordering
It is uncommon that a removable pool safety fence installation is completed using only the 15-foot sections without any modifications. Usually, each job has at least one modification to meet the exact installation length. To provide the adjusted section of swimming pool fence with the same strength as the unadjusted sections, to provide a factory finish and in order ensure your installation is completely backed by the manufacturer’s warranty, Life Saver of Houston reborders the cut section. Rebordering means that we don’t simply cut the section; instead we apply border material to the end of the cut section and reinstall the end pole, as is done with a factory finished fence. This is something that we insist on and that many other fence companies do not do.
Wood Deck Supports
The strength of the foundation of the pool safety fence is key to the overall safety of your swimming pool. Since most wood decks are not thick enough to adequately support the poles, they often need to be strengthened to ensure high tensile ratings. We add wood blocks to provide the necessary support for the wood deck. Again, this is an example of how Life Saver goes out of our way to ensure the best pool safety fence installation possible.
